Maharajapuram S.Srinivasan Maharajapuram S. Srinivasan comes
in the direct Sishya Parampara of Saint Thyagaraja. He is the grandson of
Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer, and son and disciple of
Sangeetha Kalanidhi Maharajapuram Santhanam. He is an ‘A’ grade artiste of
AIR/Doordharshan and has been giving concerts for well over 30 years in all
leading sabhas in India. He has had several concert tours to U.SA, Europe,
Middle East, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Canada and has many Cassettes
and CD recordings to his credit. He is the Asthana Vidwan of Kanchi Kamokoti
Peetam and has won many titles and awards. He is a Board Member of the Annamalai
University, Chidambaram, India. He is gifted with a stentorian voice that is
reminiscent of his father. He has been awarded the Prestigious “Kalaimamani” (
State Award for Musical Excellence) by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2009.
